Cafe D’Orient

A modern contemporary spacious café and the focal point of is again the furniture as they are made from timber. It is a great place for a cup of coffee, breakfast on the run, lunch with friends, a leisurely afternoon tea, or dinner as it has a wide variety of food to tempt you.

Buffet dinner is served on Saturdays at only RM20 per pax, which is considered reasonable for a hotel standard.

The other main attraction here is their Asian Ala-Carte dishes. Below are some of the recommended dishes:

Golden Fried Rice – RM16.00, fried rice with egg, served with big prawns, papadum, pandan chickens and sunny side up. The fried rice tasted very fragrant as the aroma of wok was great and the rice used was fragrant rice from Thailand.

Orient Prawn Mee – RM20.00, this is the famous Penang prawn noodle, also known as Hokkien mee. The soup was thick and spicy with several fresh shrimps in it and served with a half-boiled egg and bean sprouts.

Monte Cristo Sandwich – RM15, this is not like a regular grilled cheese sandwich which you can find outside. It uses a secret recipe by one of the staffs here. They use cheddar cheese imported from Australia to make this sandwich and served with french fries.

Overall, Grand Orient Hotel is one of the finest hotels in Mainland with Amazon theme and the price per night is reasonable. One of the selling points of the hotel is the water park which is exclusive to members and hotel guests only. The Saturday night buffet is worth a try as the price per head is very reasonable.
