The varieties of Chinese New Year selection are as below:
Seafood Mango Cocktail, the cocktail consisted of a shrimp and a piece of mussel which had been added with some mango sauce. It was garnished with a slice of lemon. The taste was very appetizing.
Marinated Mussels with Pepper, the mussels were marinated with some appetizing mixed sauce and sprinkled with some black pepper and tomato and cucumber slices.
Baby Octopus Salad, the baby octopus was placed in a little mug and added with some salad dressing. It tasted very nice as well.
Pie Tee with Condiments, it is also known as Singapore Poh Piah. The accompanying sauce was also very appetizing.
“YEE SANG” STATION
Sliced Fresh Salmon, Fresh Tuna, Chinese Five Spiced Powder, Toasted Sesame Seeds , Red
Pickled Ginger, Carrots, Ground Cinnamon, Roasted Peanuts, White Radish,
Crackers and Selected Ingredients
The Yee Sang was not very unique and tasted like the commercialized version that could be bought from outside.
Crab Meat Seafood Soup was made similar to Shark Fin’s soup but without shark’s fin. It was a warm and welcoming soup.
Fried Vegetables with “Loh Hon Chai” was a mixed vegetable dish consisted of broccoli, fatt choy, Chinese mushrooms, ginkgo biloba seeds and cauliflower. It tasted like a regular mixed vegetable dish.
Steamed Fried Rice in Lotus Leaves with Yam and Dried Shrimps
Steamed Fish with Pickled Cabbage Sauce. It was a red snapper and was fresh and prepared in Teochew style which was sourish but appetizing.
CHINESE BBQ CARVING STATION
Roasted “Pi Pa” Duck with Duck Sauce
Seasonal Tropical Fruits, Mandarin Orange and Pomelo Fruits
Hot Soya Bean with Gingko Nuts and Glutinous Rice Balls. The sweetness was just right and the glutinous rice ball with red bean filling was chewy. It was a perfect sweet ending.
Overall, this menu is specially crafted for Chinese New Year. The food presentation had an auspicious feel and it made you feel like you were dining with a big family in “Hard Rock” style – chic, modern and comfortable surrounding. For those who do not have the chance to go back home for Chinese New Year or are planning for a Chinese New Year function, check out this place as it is the perfect place to dine and celebrate Chinese New Year.
