Patio Bar de Tapas Weld Quay, A Place for Nice Food and Chill Out

Holy Mamacita! If no one explained to me what I am ordering here at Patio Bar de Tapas, I think I will just close my eyes and made a random order.

Patio is a nice and cozy place located at Weld Quay. Bar De Tapas is the title of the bar at Patio. In fact, the title itself is  already making you feel like you are in Barcelona.

There is a nice bar counter to chill out for drinks.

The outdoor dining area is covered with purple lighting to create a romantic ambience.

For those looking for privacy, you may choose a seat at the VIP corner located at first floor.

There is also a wine cellar which displays their great variety of wines. For a wine lover like myself, this place is called a “heaven”.

Salmon rebozado aderezado con pure de manzan – RM24, the salmon slices were deep fried and served with some homemade sourish sweet sauce.

Seriously I could only read Salmon from the name of this dish. The rest I might have to Google for its meaning. Nevertheless, this dish tasted good as the crunchy crust of salmon blended very well with the juicy salmon meat. It was even better when paired with the appetizing sweet and sour sauce.

Hongos salvajes con tomillo y ajo – RM15, the meaning of this dish is slices of mushroom pan fried and served with slices of breads.

The taste of the mushroom was surprisingly good. The mushrooms were so juicy and when taking together with the crunchy slices of toast, it was like taking a crunchy toast with juicy bite texture.

Costillas de cerdo – RM58, obviously the name of this dish is barbecue pork ribs (by the look of my photo).

The barbecue ribs here are very much different from other restaurants. The ribs here were covered with herbs and seasoning. For those that love the strong scent of herbs this is the right place for you.

Arroz Paella de Mariscos con Gambas – RM58, This is the seafood paella rice covered with clams, scallops and shrimps.

This is one of the signature dishes here. To me, to simplify the name of it, it is actually an Asian seafood claypot rice. No doubt the aroma of the rice which was covered with the abundance of seafood was simply awesome.

Marisco Pasta de Tinta de Calamar – RM 32, The pasta that had been cooked with squid ink and seafood.

The preparation of squid ink pasta is not easy as it requires a certain level of skill set. If it is not managed properly, the pasta will have strong seafood stench and it will ruin the taste of the pasta. At Patio, they managed to prepare the pasta without any stench and it tasted great with the combination of seafood.

Open Tortilla horneada con champinones, tocino y queso mozzarella – RM 32, tortilla covered with mushrooms, olive, bacon and creamy mozzarella cheese.

This dish might be easily mistaken for Pizza. However, Tortilla is something that very common in Spain. To me it is a healthier version of pizza with a thinner crust although the taste and the bite of this dish is similar to pizza.

Wild Boy – RM28, this drink has been mixed with apricot and brandy. It was a nice combination drink and it tasted appetizing. It is one of my favourite drinks here.

Snow White – RM25 a mixture of vodka, apple juice, cinnamon syrup and lemon juice. Although the name of this drink is called snow white but the cinnamon has overwhelmed the entire drink which is not my cup of tea.

Knock Knock – RM32 served with metal ice ball. It contains Absinthe which is highly alcoholic. This is specially dedicated to alcoholics. If you think you can stand the high content of alcohol in this drink, come and have a try.

Mojito – RM28 mixed with rum, brown sugar, lime wedges and soda water. This is a common drink at any bars. To me, the taste of this drink will determine the standard of that bar.

Overall, the food here was nice and the price is considered reasonable. There are even private car parks available which are a few doors away from this restaurant and most importantly they are FREE for Patio customers. The drawback of this restaurant is the waiting time is too long. It could be due to lack of waiter/waitress on that day.
