Clement’s Western Delight, Tanjung Bungah – Home Style Western Food

Located along the same road as where Deli Diners Western Food used to be, Clement’s Western Delight may not be new to those staying at Tanjung Bungah as it has been there for at least 6 months now. Previously located at Viva Food Court at Tanjung Tokong, it has now relocated to Jalan Sungai Kelian for a spacious place all to themselves.

Clement’s Western Delight serves varieties of western delights. From the usual chicken chop, grilled fish and pasta to burgers and pork chop. All the food and drinks are displayed on the wall next to the counter where you would just order from there before taking a seat. No menus will be given since it is displayed near the counter.

Clement’s Chicken Chop – RM15.00. The chicken thigh was battered and deep fried until golden perfection. It was then covered with a homemade brown gravy that had been cooked with onions, potato and carrot cubes. Serving together with it were some salad, garlic bread and french fries.

This is one of the dishes that I would order at local Western delights to determine the standard of the food. This did not disappoint me as the sauce did not have the excessive tomato ketchup taste unlike others. The gravy blended very well with the battered chicken thigh. The entire dish was juicy and tasty.

Grilled Pork served with Garlic Gravy – RM14.00, the pork was nicely-grilled and served in garlic gravy. It was then sided with fries, garlic bread and salad. There are other gravy options such as blackpepper or mushroom gravy. Since garlic gravy is not so common, I made the choice to pair my grilled pork with garlic gravy and it was a wise choice indeed.

The aroma of the garlic gravy was so good and it actually made the dish more appetizing. The slightly salty gravy was paired perfectly with the tender and juicy grilled pork.

Sausage & Ham Pasta – RM14.00, the pasta was topped with tomato-based sauce and packed with sausages and ham slices.

The tomato-based sauce was not overly sweet which is to my liking. The portion of sausages and ham was aplenty and this is a dish perfect for kids.

Fresh Wild Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bun – RM8.00, chopped pieces of wild mushrooms in a creamy soup and served with a slice of homemade garlic bread.

This is a standard mushroom soup that was freshly made in-house. The garlic bread was crunchy and perfect for dipping into the hot soup. The garlic spread was homemade and tasted full of fresh garlic scent.

Overall, the food here was nice especially the grilled pork with garlic gravy is one of my favorites. The price was reasonable too especially the grilled pork as the portion was big. Most of the tables here are located in the open space, which the chances of getting mosquito bites are high. This is one of the main deterrents if you are sitting outdoors. The waiting time is slightly long perhaps due to the busy crowd. It would be better to be there before 7pm before the crowd starts to kick in.
