It was a sunny day during the invitation of Strada Caffe to all the Penang Food Bloggers for food review. It has been a very long time since we had this huge gathering.

Although the dinner started on Saturday, 6pm, it was still very hot and sunny out there just like in the noon and many floggers (food bloggers) were busy taking photos on the surrounding.

Strada Caffe serves not only beer and liquor for the people who come to watch football matches…

…they also serve coffee of all ranges for the people who come to this cosy place as a gathering and reunion.

Before the review session began, the owner of Strada had re-emphasized that this place is not meant for fine dining or very delicious food. Instead, this place is more for people to relax, having a cuppa and also some light food.

After the speech, followed by a solo unplugged guitar performance by one of the shareholders.

Besides the usual coffee bean range, Strada Caffe also provides the precious Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee. Civet coffee, is a coffee made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract. A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids.

Green Garden Salad – RM8.90, the dish was mixed with lettuce, capsicums, onions, croutons, sun flower seeds, eggs and smoked chicken. Finished with house salad dressing. The taste of this green salad was very green indeed and was an acceptable starter.

Seafood Chowder in Bread Bowl – RM15.90. Chunks of seafood were simmered with potatoes, onions, celery, real heavy cream and a touch of butter and served in bread bowl. This dish was very special, but I feel that the price is slightly on the high side.

Kung Pao Chicken – RM9.90. Stir fried with kung pao sauce, served with cashew nuts, sunny side up egg, prawn crackers and rice. It tasted spicy and sourish.

Kam Heong Seafood Combo – RM8.90. Stir fried with kam heong sauce, served with prawn crackers, sunny side up egg and rice. This dish was more spicy compared to Kung Pao.

Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice – RM8.90. Served with prawn crackers, sunny side up egg and chicken wing. The salted fish fried rice was tasty.

Bao Zhiang Mien – RM11.90. Noodle in house-blended gravy, with minced chicken and 3-colored vegetables. The mixture of the gravy and the cold vegetable didn’t really blend well. In fact, after mixing the ingredients together the taste became cold compared to warm. It is not my cup of tea.

Tomyam Seafood – RM8.90. A choice of bee hoon or instant noodles. The taste was more spicy than sour. This is not my cup of tea either.

The Barista was preparing the brew of latte.

A nice decorative cup of latte.

Different types of decoration on the coffee.

Besides coffee there are many types soda and cocktails available.

Strawberry Kiss Frappes – RM8.90. A very standard strawberry milk shake.

Fluffy Hot Chocolate – RM6.90, the chocolate flavor is not strong enough. It would be better if the chocolate taste is stronger.

Choco Banana Frappes – RM8.90, acceptable drink for chocolate + banana milkshake.

Chocolate Chips Frappes – RM8.90. Rich and nice chocolate chip milkshake.

“Yeah, what’s up!”, this is how you greeting when you meet a rocker. In fact, this is not an unusual sign for the staff to greet you back at Hard Rock Cafe or Hard Rock Hotel at Batu Ferringhi, Penang.

It is not hard to locate Hard Rock hotel. If you are following the one and the only road from Tanjong Bungah to Batu Ferringhi, you will sure pass by The Ship and Eden restaurant. Keep driving for another 1km and you will soon see Hard Rock Hotel on your right.

Hard Rock Hotel and Cafe have four principles for all their staff to serve clients better, which are:

Love all, serve all. Have to love all the human and every living nature in this world.

All is one. Treat all human kinds as one society. As in the world of music there will be no level.

Take time to be kind. Time will brush up a person and make a person to be kind.

Save the planet. Heal the world and make it a better place.

Besides the service, the food rocks as well. As starter, below will be one of the recommendations from Hard Rock Cafe, Penang.

Starters:

Jumbo Combo – RM48.00

A delectable array of our most popular starters that’s big enough to share. Includes Santa Fe Spring Rolls, Hickory-Smoked Chicken Wings, Onion Rings, Potato Skins and Tupelo Chicken Tenders. Served with four different sauces for mixing and matching.

Each of the dish served with has their own sauce to be dipped with. Most of the sauce tasted fine for me. But there was one which was made of blue cheese really put me off. Even though I can eat the most exotic food in this world but I still can’t accept the taste of blue cheese.

The cut for the inner of the Santa Fe Spring Rolls was crispy and delicious.

Hard Rock Nachos – RM32.00

Fresh corn tortilla chips piled high with Jack and Cheddar cheeses and seasoned pinto beans. Served with sour cream, chopped green onions, pico de gallo, jalapeños and a side of fresh Hard Rock Grilled Salsa. Big enough to be shared.

The taste of the chips were great as they were made from high quality corns and cheddar cheese. However, the price for a plate of nachos chip is a bit on the high side. The chips are not refillable, only the dip is. The amount of the chips is just capable for 3 persons only. If the chips can be made bottomless, this will be perfect.

Set Lunch:

New Set Lunch On The Menu. We were honored to get invited to review the pre-launch set lunch for hard rock cafe. The price of each set cost only RM28++ for the 3-course meal. Thanks for Jason and Gill from Gourmet Garden for the arrangement.

First Week Of The Month:

Soup Of The Day – Served with garlic bread

Main Course:

Cajun Fish Fillet – Served with tartar sauce, seasoned fried and coleslaw

or

Chicken Chop – Topped with green peas, carrot and onion served with seasoned fries and coleslaw

Oxtail Stew – Served with steam white rice and fresh garden vegetable

Dessert – Single scoop ice cream

The chicken chop was very juicy and the brown sauce was very classic and delicious. However, the batter was slightly on the salty side. Anyway, it is best mixed with the salad.

If you dare to take the combination of the salad together with the brown sauce chicken chop, it’s very unique and delightful.

Dessert – Single scoop ice cream

Hawaiian Hamburger, the patty is medium to well done, it is not as juicy as the legendary burger.

However, the combination of the patty with the pineapple slices was delicious and appetizing.

Third Week Of The Month:

Beef Stew – Served with garlic smashed potato and fresh garden vegetables

Dessert – Single scoop ice cream

Cajun Fish Fillet, you might probably want to ask what does cajun mean? Actually A cajun seasoning mix is used in many cajun recipes. It is basically salt with a variety of spices, which are pepper, onion powder, garlic poweder, chili powder, thyme, sweet basil and bay leaf.

Cajun fish fillet is cooked in cajun recipes which taste slightly hot and spicy. Overall, the taste of the fish was fresh and well marinated with cajun spices. The mashed potato was one of the great side dishes. It was very creamy and rich.

Fourth Week Of The Month:

Side Salad – With choice of dressing, please check with the server

Main Course:

or

or

California Burger – Served with seasoned fries

Dessert – Single scoop ice cream

Legendary 10 oz. Burger – RM40.00

This burger is the most famous at Hard Rock Cafe: It is topped with seasoned bacon, two slices of Cheddar cheese, a crisp fried onion ring, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

The patty was juicy and full of aroma of meat. You will love this if you are meat lover. Serving together was the fried onion ring, instead of the calamari ring as it is the family of the octopus that manage to get all the result correct for this round of world cup. “Paul the Octopus”, just kidding.

Desserts:

Hot Fudge Brownie – RM26.00

Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream and hot fudge on a fresh brownie, topped with chopped walnuts, chocolate sprinkles, fresh whipped cream and a cherry.

Very delicious dessert and very filling. This dish will definitely melt you down. As we know that the ending of a meal is the most important as it will give you the strongest impression. In fact, this is a good ending.

Beverages:

Mango-Berry Cooler – RM25.00 per glass

A tropical blend of fresh mangos, strawberries, pineapple juice, orange juice and sweet & sour mix topped with lemon-lime soda. For non-alcohol lover, this is the one that you will want to order.

Madonna’s memorabilia, there are only 5 replicas all around the world.

We were so lucky there there were 3 pretty girls get us to take their photos. By the way, if some of you do know them please let me know

The ambiance of this place is great, while the food taste is very nice too. There are even plentiful of car parks available. As the price of dining at this place is slightly on the high side. There are also no outside alcohol allowed in the cafe, each bottle with cost a cockage charge of RM200.

Always finding a place for nice food with air-conditioning and cozy ambiance for a bunch of people on some special occasions, example birthday or farewell, would be a a very headache task for me. As I will always be the one who needs to figure out and arrange the place to dine.

Although sometimes I feel very tired and frustrated on finding and arranging for a place to dine, but I am used to this. As for this round, I suggested to dine at Little Cottage 2.

For your information, Little Cottage 1 and Little Cottage 2 are both under the same management. However, Little Cottage 1 is located at Burmah Road while Little Cottage 2 is located at Waterfall Hotel at Gottlieb Road.

The entrance to the restaurant is very classic and definitive.

The intimate and cozy ambiance inside the restaurant is very suitable for dating couples looking for some romantic restaurants. However, there is a drawback over this place. The background music which was playing in the restaurant was repeating over and over again which was abit irritating.

Red/ White Wine Cooler – per glass – RM9.90. This is a refreshing and appetizing bubbly wine drink to open up your taste buds before meal.

Little cottage 2 always provides different set meals for different occasions. As for this case is Father’s Day Special, the selection of course included bun, soup, dessert, choice of main meal, coffee or tea.

The starter for the set, soup and bun:

The mushroom soup was smooth and creamy. It was just great.

The main course listed as below:

Mix and Match Combo, select two (Tiger Prawn, German Sausage, Chicken, Lamb, Fish) - RM39.90+

Most of us ordered Mix and Match Combo as it was affordable and very attractive. Below was a combination of tiger prawn and German sausage. The tiger prawn was fresh and was baked nicely with butter and sprinkled with fried onions on top. Whereas the German sausage was long and delicious. One of the most attractive side dishes on this set was the baked potato with mayonnaise sauce and fried onions on top.

Next combo was the lamb and chicken. The sauce provided was brown sauce with some black paper. The taste of both chicken and lamb were excellent.

The following was the combination of chicken and prawn which the taste was similar like the previous ones.

The next combination was salmon with prawn. The salmon was pan fried, which tasted great after accompanied by mayonnaise sauce.

Tiger Prawn Picatta Spaghetti in Italian Tomato Sauce - RM29.90+. Besides the combo mix and match set, there was also picatta spaghetti with tomato sauce. It was a seafood delight and the taste is up to par.

There was also a lobster set priced at RM49.90+ with the below choices:

Set 1. Lobster Combo Sepcial, select one (Salmon, Lamb, Chicken)

Set 2. Lobster Spaghetti with Italian Tomato Sauce

Set 3. Lobster Spaghetti with Olive Oil

Lobster was covered with cheese and was baked. The aroma of it was nice and the combination with salmon was good.

Besides set meals, there are ala cartes available as well. Below is the Grilled Fish ala carte.

Chicken with brown sauce.

The dessert for the set meal was a standard chocolate mud cake.

For those who enjoys better dessert, you can top up with RM4 for a tiramisu cake.

The ending with freshly brewed coffee or tea. What a nice ending.

Overall, the environment is very nice. Just that the background music needs to have a little bit more variety instead of keep looping the same song. The food is nice and the price range is acceptable. There is no problem on the car park as there are private and public car parks just around the corner.

If you are feeling sick and not well, you need to visit clinic to get some medicine. How about if you are feeling hungry and thirsty, can you visit clinic? The answer is YES, instead of clinic, this place is called Clinic Cafe. In fact the whole building looks like clinic.

To get to this place, if you know how to get to Sunway Carnival at Prai, where Sunway is on your left and Old Town Cafe is on your right, you are now located at Jalan Todak 4. Just before reaching Sunway Carnival building, you will see Billion Supermarket is on the same row. Right before Billion turn left to Jalan Todak 3, you will see a row of shop houses with one red in between and that is the Clinic Cafe.

The entrance to the clinic cafe is like an entrance to the real clinic where you will see there are wheel chairs placed just beside the door and the seats in the restaurant are just like the hospital beds.

The hungry and thirsty patients are seated at their specified ward waiting to be served.

The doctor handed the menu to us while we are in place. Too bad all the nurses are on leave that day when we get warded

The choice of needles that you can choose when you are there.

The tissue holder for the patients.

The cutleries for the patients.

After taking the order the doctor or nurse will stick the order at the board so that the next shift of doctors or nurses will know what is going on.

Warning to kids, please do not follow the dangerous act below. Below stunt had been practicing for a long time and we had sought approval from the President of the Clinic to perform so. The lady on the picture below was acting like a patient and slept on top of the table to allow us to take a good shot of photo. She is the first lady customer to have done so in Clinic Cafe.

There are a lot of orders around in this clinic cafe. However, the most valuable for money here is the set lunch promotion.

Clinic Sambal Udang Rice – RM9.80 per set. This particular set is served with White Rice, Sambal Prawn, Papadum and Fresh Vege with Salad. The papadum was so crunchy and crispy. It tasted great when dipped together with the sambal. The taste of the sambal was fragrant enough and spiciness was acceptable. However, the drawback of this dish is the freshness of the prawn is not up to par.

This set lunch came with Ice Lemonade Juice.

Clinic Special Chicken Rice – RM13.80, Served with flavoured rice, boneless fried chicken, tomyam soup and fresh vege with salad. If compared this dish to the previous one, in terms of freshness, this is much better. The Fried chicken cubes were hot and crunchy and the portion was a lot. The tomyam soup was appetizing and desirable. This set of lunch is value for money.

Together with the set, the drink served was Ice Lemon Tea.

Prawn Dipper – RM7.80, the prawns were filled in the wonton skin and deep fried, the taste was acceptable. The specialty of this is the injection of the chili sauce. It was exactly like the medicinal tray for the patient. However, the price for a few dippers with such price is consider slightly on the higher side.

Overall, the concept and the theme of this cafe is very special and attractive. It is a very new concept in Penang. The price of the promotion set lunch is very reasonable. Another plus point of this place is they have free WIFI available. However, the price for the dishes that is not under promotion is slightly on the higher side. In order to attract more customers, the management of this place should consider reviewing their price again.

“Another summer day, has come and gone away, in Paris and Rome, but I wanna go home, I miss you, you know” - A song by Michael Buble. It always gives me the feeling of going home when I travel too far away from home for too long. Sometimes dining at the airport terminal while waiting for transit will give the feeling of home sick for the traveler.

Anyway, for those who want to get a feel of home sick while dining at the airport terminal, you are always welcome to dine and drink at Terminal 1 or T1 Restaurant and Pub.

Locating this place is not too difficult at all. If you know how to go to Queensbay Mall in Penang, check out the left side of Queensbay Mall and there are new shoplots known as Bay Avenue.

The interior layout of the place is very cozy. However, this place gives the perception of a pub more than a restaurant.

Another distinguish feature here is the uniform of the waitresses and the waiters here. The waitresses are dressed in sweet Lolita costumes. Kawaii neh…(cute). She felt so embarrassed when I told her I want to take her photo.

Whereas the waiter is dressed like a pilot, cool huh? You can be a pilot even if you don’t know how to fly a plane.

Each day the restaurant serves different menu. I went there on Monday therefore I have got 2 options from the Monday menu.

Set Lunch Option:

Belacan chicken wings with fried rice, white coffee (cold/hot) or red tea (cold/hot) – RM9.90.

Penne Vege Creme, white coffee (cold/hot) or red tea (cold/hot) – RM9.90.

Besides these, there are other set lunch from Monday – Friday, all priced at RM9.90 per set.

The white coffee was quite nice, it is not the same like the usual 3 in 1 instant coffee mix. Instead the aroma of the coffee was strong and thick. I could taste some chocolate inside, not sure if this is Mocha or White Coffee. Anyway it was not too sweet, quite nice for a set lunch coffee.

The main dish of belacan chicken wings with fried rice. The fried rice was acceptable and normal, while the chicken wings was so crunchy and delicious. However the portion was not big enough. As for the side dishes, they had kimchi and also veggie.

Penne Vege Creme, the dish was cooked with penne pasta added with lots of cream sauce, olives and mushroom slices. The taste was delicious and rich. I personally feel that the first few mouths were great but when half way through the meal, I started to feel full due to the rich cream sauce.

Overall, this place serves average and acceptable food. The ambience of this place is more to bistro and pub than restaurant. The waiting time for the food was slightly long, we waited for at least 20 minutes even though we were the only customers there. For those who are on the rush, this is not a suitable place. However, someone told me that CHAR-BOILED LAMB CHOP set lunch on Thursday lunch is great. I have still yet to try out.

It was a great day last weekend as it was Mother’s Day on Sunday. Therefore, I wish all the mothers around a very Happy Mother’s Day. I remember when I asked my mom where did she want to go for dinner on that day, she told me we can just eat at home as long as you have the heart we can go to eat anytime. She does have the point as we don’t have to pack with the crowd just to get a good meal. Moreover, showing your love should not be done on special occasions only, in fact we should practise every day from the bottom of our heart.

Despite that, I insisted to go for a good meal on that day. I remember I received an email from someone saying about moms eat for free. At first I though it was a hoax, until I called up the restaurant to clarify that it was for real.

The place that made such a great promotion is Manhattan Fish Market, Queensbay Mall.

“We love mommies, so moms dine for FREE”, all the mum will get a complementary main course, soup of the day and ice lemon tea. I wonder what will happen if there are more than one mom in a table, will they make money?

Below is the history of The Manhattan Fish Market. I only managed to capture the picture but haven’t read through. If you need the article ping me, I will read them if they are “The history about Jelutong Bansan (means wet market in Hokkien)”.

Luckily I made a booking for our lunch earlier as the restaurant was full on that day.

In fact, even outside of the restaurant was also almost full.

The surrounding looks like a high class market place overseas.

The counter to buy your fish.

Fish market serving now, please wait to be seated.

Their slogan “Delighting your tastebuds with a sea of the freshest catch”.

The seasoning provided, mayonnaise, garlic and chili sauce with garlic flavor.

Orange Juice – RM6.90, the price is slightly higher than usual places, some more the juice is not freshly squeezed, instead it tasted like orange cordial. I rather buy 5 oranges and squeeze them myself.

Gentlemen start your fire. If you ordered seafood platter, you will get the chance to see the crew that torch up the food just in front of you.

The torch is to heat and melt down the cheese on top of the shrimps, while the rest of the dishes will remain un-burnt.

Grilled Gala Platter for Two – RM46.90. Perfectly grilled shrimp, fish, calamari rings and mussels served on a bed of chips and garlic rice. As what you can see on the picture, the portion is actually for more than 2 persons. If you are just an average eater, 4 pax would be more ideal to share this platter.

Cheesy shrimp, delicious and filled with rich cheese. The shrimps are fresh and portion is acceptable. The aroma of the shrimps with the cheese is so strong and tempting after being torched.

Grilled fish, is served together with their home mixed mustard, the fish tasted fresh and is covered with crunchy outter layer.

Next will be the mussel which is also covered with flour and deep fried. The taste of it is very unique and nice as if you didn’t read the menu you will not know that it is a mussel.

The calamari ring that doesn’t taste like squid as well. Most probably due to it was soft on the inside inside and crunchy on the outside and it makes people mistaken it as as something else.

Mediterranean Baked Fish Set with soup of the day and ice lemon tea – FREE complementary meal in conjunction of Mother’s Day. The bake fish tasted a bit like Thai style steam fish. There isn’t much feeling of Mediterranean , instead the hot and spiciness made this dish a signature Thai dish instead.

Ice lemon tea.

The creamy mushroom soup that came together with the set as well. The soup had a very smooth and milky texture and it was very delicious.

Overall, the food are big in portion and value for money. The dishes are fresh and the taste is up to standard. The killing point is the price of the beverages. If they are charging so much for the drinks, they might want to consider free-flow for the soft drinks.

“David Beckham lai liao.” (David Beckham is coming)! Although World Cup 2010 is coming soon, I don’t really believe he will be around in Penang. Again, I heard so when I walked in to CRC Cafe which is located on the left of CRC Restaurant. I was so surprised and excited as I am one of David Beckham’s fans. However, looking from left to right, all the patrons there were Chinese instead of any white man. With much disappointment I still walk to the seat which we had reserved.

To go to this place, it is very easy. If you know how to drive to CRC via Burma Road, it is just on your left. There are plenty of parking spaces around CRC. However, the availability of the parking lots are very much depended on the crowd that attended the dinner at CRC restaurant. You don’t expect to find a good parking lot when someone holds a wedding reception at the restaurant.

Patrons have been cautioned of slippery surface, and football boots are prohibited to be worn to this area as well.

Although football boots are prohibited, you can still see people wearing jerseys at the dining area.

David Beckham which has been mentioned just now is actually available on the drinks menu. Not only David Beckham, you can even find Cristiana Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs on the menu list.

David Beckham (Carrot, Tomato, Cucumber) – RM2.80, the taste a bit strange due to the taste of cucumber, but still acceptable for me.

Wayne Rooney (Pineapple, Orange, Mint) – RM2.80, The taste of mint is very strong and it really cools down your throat.

For those who prefer more original taste instead of mixture of vegetable and fruits, try the papaya, milk – RM2.20 which is more authentic.

Chicken Gordon Blue – RM9.00, chicken meat stuffed with ham and cheese, coated with batter and deep fried. I just love the crunchy taste of the skin. As for the inner stuff, it is very rich. If you are a chunk eater, this is a good option for you.

Grilled Fish With Cheese – RM8.50, for fish and cheese lover. It is simple yet nice dish.

Grilled Garlic Fish – RM7.00, this dish has a very strong smell of garlic. It is a healthy dish comparde to the rest. If you are a health conscious person, you will want to go for this dish.

Creamy Brown Chicken – RM7.50, the batter and the chicken are the same ingredients for chicken chop. However, the main difference is on the creamy brown sauce. I love the brown sauce here. Other than the brown sauce from Coliseum at Jalan T.A.R in KL, this is the best in Penang.

Creamy Brown Rib Eye – RM13.00, similar use of brown sauce, the only difference is on the meat, of course. The rib eye was medium-cooked. The tender of the rib eye plus the creamy brown sauce is definitely a divine dish. Other that the great taste, the price here is also very reasonable. They serve the most reasonably-priced steak in town.

Overall, the place here is very peaceful and relaxing. It is a perfect place for family gathering with the big green field beside. The food here is fabulous with very reasonable price and value for money. However, the availability of the parking space still depends on the season.

Some one asked me last week whether I know where is The Sun. I replied, The Sun newspaper that I read everyday? Some more that person replied “No, the Sun is just beside Guang Ming Yit Poh”(Guang Ming Daily Press). Again, I replied “Ya I know both of them are newspapers and I also read Guang Ming occasionally.” Then that person shot me back, ”The Sun also you don’t know, some more claim yourself as a food blogger.” Gosh! I hate it when some one said like that to me. In that case, don’t ask me for food direction next time?

Anyway, back to the main topic. The restaurant which I am going to introduce this round is located at Macalister Road. If you are driving from Komtar to Pulau Tikus via Macalister Road you will see Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Centre on your left.

The Sun, Spring Chamber is located inside Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Center. To be exact it is just beside the main hall.

The big signboard on top of this restaurant is known as @ The Sun. However the entrance signboard says Spring Chamber. Therefore, I am not sure which is the name for this restaurant.

Once we entered the restaurant, it welcomes you with its east meets west decoration. The ornaments were still very reddish and there were Chinese New Year songs playing throughout the dining time.

Other than the oriental style deco, the layout of the table is very Western style.

The welcome drinks were served once our order had been placed. The drink was a combination of Sarsi + 7up with no alcohol content at all. The taste was kinda sweet and it might not be suitable for those who dislike sweet.

The Set Dinner at this place was very reasonable and delicious. For couples looking for a quiet environment while enjoying fine dining, this is the place to be where the set dinners are priced at RM38 Nett (inclusive tax) per set.

Below are the options for set dinners:

Starter option:

Wasabi Mayo Tempura Prawn with Mesclun or

Soup of The Day

The prawns were coated with flour and deep-fried. They were then served with cherry tomatoes and topped with wasabi mayo sauce and also thousand island sauce. The taste was appetizing.

The soup of the day was creamy mushroom soup. The mushrooms were chopped into fine pieces and cooked together with pinch of chopped rosemary. The fragrance of rosemay was not too overwhelming while you could still taste the mushrooms.

The main course options:

Grilled rib-eye tarragon demi glazed served with mashed potato or

Pan fried salmon Kikkoman cream served with boiled potato or

Grilled chicken oriental barbecue sauce served with potato wedges

As for the main course, I tried 2 of them. The one below is the Pan Fried Salmon Kikkoman Cream. What makes this dish special is the sauce. It contains cheesy flavor, and yet not too rich which is quite unique for a salmon steak sauce. The salmon was also very fresh.

Besides Salmon, the Grilled Rib-Eye Tarragon Demi Glazed served with mashed potato was also delicious. The rib-eye steak cooked in medium rare served with custom mix sauce which has some similarity to brown sauce was excellent. The meat almost melted in your mouth as you chewed. The steak here is one of the must try in town other than The Ship.

Dessert Options:

Carrot Walnut Cake or

Chocolate Brownies Cake

This was a very rich and creamy cake. If you feel not enough after the main course, this is the best option to finish off your meal. It was full with chocolate flavor.

Carrot Walnut Cake actually contained both carrot and walnut. The taste of carrot was not very obvious and you can feel the crunchiness of walnut. For those who prefer a less-rich cake, this is a better option.

The finishing of a set meal with coffee or tea is the norm for every restaurant, including The Sun. I couldn’t complain much as I’m a coffee-lover.

Now let’s take a look at the other side of the restaurant. There was an open-air dining area linking to the main hall. This place in Chinese is called “Xiao Lan Ting”, translated as “Small Dixx Square” in English.

The corridor to the washroom is full with old time posters.

This is the beer poster. I wonder how did the “Tiger” poster look like at that time?

Toilet for gentlemen…

Toilet for the ladies…

Very unique place for guy to pee, the antique urine bowl…

Outstanding basin…

Overall, the place is cosy. The food is nice and the price is reasonable. I can’t find a reason not to return to this place.
