It has been a while there are no update from the chamber of VIP bloggers. I have been meeting up the great full time blogger BB Community. I really give him my salute as he is so daring to quit his job as an IT administrator and has become a full-time blogger, this takes a very great courage.

SlowCatchupKuan, now has become a movie reviewer instead of a jukebox blogger. I still love her previous blogs that played music while I was working late at my customer’s place.

The Zaplang blogger, Merdurian is now in Brisbane. Previously addicted to DOTA, but now is out of the country to further her studies. Congratulations to Merdurian upon her studies.

BabyOnBoard - it has been a while since I heard from him? Not sure what is he up to now?

For myself, I am still the same food blogger who is still finding ways to work out on internet marketing. I have met up with BB Community at Borders bookstore in Time Square KL last 2 weeks. Now he’s with hair :).

After the meeting with BB community I have worked my way out to Coliseum Cafe and Hotel at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. I have been writing about this on my previous post, Jln T.A.R – Best Steak in town - Colisuem Cafe & Hotel. I have come back to it again as I feel that it is still the best compared to other steak houses. The outside of Coliseum Cafe & Hotel looks very old, it seems like a pre-war building.

The business hours for Coliseum cafe is from Monday – Friday 10:00am to 10:00pm. Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday is from 9am to 10pm. For those who want to call for reservation the number is 03-26926270.

Today I tried out Sizzling Fillet Steak (Grilled), which is RM37.90. It is considered cheap for NZ-imported beef.

The next item that I tried out was the Grilled Tenderloin which is also RM37.90.

Bread and butter provided are not included in either one of the meals. When the captain asked us if we want to include bread and butter, we thought it came with the set, but it’s not. If you are not a big eater, please do not consider this as the bread and butter cost RM4 for 4 slices.

The salad came together with the Sizzling Steak. Nice, I just love the bowl as it really looks antique.

Preparation of the sizzling steak is done infront of you as the chef places the fresh steak to the hot pan. Remember to have your steak “Medium-cooked” as the tenderness of the steak will be just nice and also juicy. Please note that they don’t have “medium-rare”.

Smoke blown to your face. For ladies who want to do facial theraphy, order this meal and it comes for FREE.

The steak is being served freshl while the gravy is still sizzling on the hot plate.

The non-sizzling Grilled Tenderloin Steak, although the presentation is not as great as sizzling’s, the taste is in fact better. For those who enjoys steak the Grilled Tenderloin is a must-try as the outer layer is not as hard as sizzling steak. The overall steak is equally grilled.

Close-up shot on the Grilled Tenderloin steak.

The inner part of the steak. Juicy and soft, it really melts in your mouth.

Captain Ho, one of the senior crews who has been serving in the restaurant for more then 5 decades. I believe he is as old as this building. By the way, he is not the only senior crew there. Most of the crew there are all senior citizens. The boss must be treating them very good and that’s why they can stay there for so long.

The door arch and also the floor area.

After my previous post about iKopi at Petaling Street, it has been a while that I haven’t really blogged about the great food in Petaling Street (Chinatown). There are a lot of great food along Petaling Street, such as Portugal Kari Ikan Panggang (Portuguese Grilled Curry Fish) and also Lo Han Gor (Chinese Herbal Tea). Well, today I am not going to blog about that yet as they are too commercialised already. I will consider about that may be after sometime when I have finished with all the non-commercialised or newly stalls.

The food that I am going to introduce today is a road side stall and it is located at the middle of Petaling Street. By the way, I have a cousin who stays in Selangor for more than 5 years and he is still unaware of such nice food in Petaling Street. Therefore, I have the urge that it is definitely a MUST to introduce the place to all of you.

The exact location of this stall is just opposite Restaurant Kim Lian Kee and Reggae Bar of Petaling Street.

In front of the stall you will see the Clara building and PSDN building.

While I was taking pictures of the porridge, there was someone doing some shooting on a chestnut stall behind me.

The crewman and also the artist in the red shirt… It could be another food introduction program again.

The stall of the day, Hon Kee Famous Porridge (汉记靓粥) has been selling raw fish porridge (鱼生粥) since 1959, just 2 years after Merdeka (Malaysia’s Independence Day). What a long history for this stall, not sure this has been passed down from how many generations.

The stall was so packed with patrons that we were unable to get a seat. In the end we sat at the stall beside which was not selling porridge but Chee Cheong Fun (猪肠粉) instead.

To be hornest, the Chee Choeng Fun (猪肠粉) was just so-so and nothing very special. If you have tasted Chee Cheong Fun at Genting Restaurant in Penang, this is really nothing to be compared with. Moreover, this Chee Cheong Fun didn’t even have any taste of shrimp paste.

Finally, the great raw fish porridge that I am referring to. The raw fish is cut into equal slices with ginger and Chinese celery to remove the staleness of the raw fish. The hot porridge is then sprinkled with spring onions which is a norm for Chinese porridge.

My advice on having this porridge is stir the porridge 5 to 6 times to disperse the heat so that the raw fish will not be overcooked. Place all the fish slices into the hot porridge and wait for 30 seconds and you will find yourself indulged into the freshness and juiciness of the fish fillets. Unless you prefer a raw and half-cooked fish, you can place the fillet in one by one but mind you that the heat of the porridge can only last for 10 minutes.

Yao Zha Guai (油条) can be ordered together with the porridge as a side dish which makes a great combination. With these 3 combination, the cost per pax is only RM6. It is very reasonable for Petaling standard.

I believe that most of us know where is Plaza Low Yat, in fact all the IT people should know this place is famous of having cheap and latest IT gadgets. However, this time I am not introducing any IT stuff in this post. Instead I am going to introduce a nice place for food just beside the entrance of Plaza Low Yat

The name of this restaurant is called Hong Kong’s Food Culture (港饮港食小卖部)。 Actually the front part of this restaurant is just a small lot if you didn’t look carefully, it just looks like another small hawker stall.

However, if you walk in closely you will see there is a staircase to basement that leads to a dining area with air conditioning.

The place is so crowded and usually you will need to wait a moment to be seated. Very good business.

So far I have tried a few things and all of them meet my standard. The old cucumber soup (老火汤) as my starter, the soup is cooked in slow fire and this made the soup well blended with old cucumber. The soup also has peanut, red dates and squid slices and this made the soup even more delicious.

This is the Hongkie Style Duck Rice (港式烧鸭饭). The duck meat is very juicy and the most important is the skin is so crunchy. It tastes so good even without dipping with the sauce. The price for this duck rice is very reasonable only RM5.90 + RM3 for the old cucumber soup.

Fried Rice Fu Jian Style (福建炒饭), this dish costs RM15.50 which is a bit expensive. . However, it’s worth to eat as there are many ingredients. On top of the fried rice there are mushrooms, slice meat, prawns, cucumber, scallops and “mee sua” cooked in gluey form and spread on top of the rice. It is a bit expensive but worth to try.

For those who would like to practise Fear Factor, you should try the duck tongue. I am not used to take the dish but my friends have ordered so I have to try some too. Anyway, the taste is all about soya sauce and sasame oil and nothing much.

Lastly, Stewed Egg (炖蛋) as my dessert. It’s very unique. So far I haven’t had any chance to order this back in Penang. I remember I had this very long time ago when I was child. The egg is steamed with some ingredients that make it smooth and it’s as smooth as eating ‘tau hua’. For those ladies that want to have smooth and nice skin, you should consume this more. A bowl of this is just RM4.

My usual cup of tea. As usual, but this time is hongkie style. Nice.

Overall, I find the food is nice. However, it is giving me the feeling of “Oh, another hongkie restaurant”. May be there are too many competition around and the food are all very similar. That is why I am giving a very high ranking for this restaurant.

After my lunch, I had a walk in Sungai Wang Plaza and it was very crowded. So fortunate, I have met the local artist, Gary Chao (曹格). He was here today for the Kim Gary Membercard Promotion. Check out the poster “Welcome to My World”. Too bad I am not a big fan of any artists, else I will be going crazy into the crowd just for his authograph.

Recently I finished reading a book The Secret. I find that it is a good book and hope to share with all of you. The book is about Law Of Attraction. The Law Of Attraction states that “everything that’s coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it’s attracted to you by virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It’s what you’re thinking. Whatever is going on in your mind are attracting to you”. – Rhonda Byrne.

You won’t believe that some of the greatest people in history like Plato, Shakespeare, Newton, Hugo, Beethoven, Lincoln and Einstein had practiced The Secret before. For me, it took me 6 months to really dig up more about The Secret. I was told by many people about Law Of Attraction by Anthony Robbins that it is very powerful and you have to believe in it. It’s like the Law Of Gravity that will not fail to apply on anything in this universe.

I didn’t really believe in it until I met a very successful businessman that is practising and reminding me about The Secret again. He told me, in order for you to get success you have to always feel good and visualise all the things that you want in life. The more detailed you visualise, the nearer you are to your goal. Anyway, feeling good and visualising about your success is good but do not be too overwhelmed as eventually this will make things worse.

After getting these advices, I decided to draw up a visual board of what I want in life and below is one of my dreams, a multimillion ringgit condo – The Cove. This is the first time I have visited this condo as it belongs to one of my customers. I was there to fix his wireless access.

The view from the condo which stands up to 3o floors and more and each floor only has a single unit.

For those who wants success, hope that these pictures will help you on attracting your dream house. If this is not the type of dream house that you wish, then you need to find other pictures and hang it somewhere so that you can move toward to your goal.

This is the place I went during my KL trip. My friend bought me to try out the best spicy food, ipoh style curry mee located at Taman Megah, the name of the food court is called “Ming Tien”. I am still tracking down the GPS location over Wikimapia, no luck. Whoever knows the coordinate, please email or comment on my post.

The curry stall is just at your left hand side as you enter from the main entrance. The stall is very easy to be spotted as it combines 2 stalls into one.

The style of curry mee is cooked in Ipoh-style and therefore, it’s very special and unique compared to the rest.

These are the drinks we ordered and the middle fruit juice is the apple juice. This is just the mini size only. Imagine if we ordered the jumbo size, we will be peeing all the way back to Penang.

At the same time we waited for our food, I found out that there is a Wan Tan Mee stall still celebrating Halloween at this moment. Check out the wording on the stall sign board, I wasn’t dare enough to order anything from that stall. Was afraid that there may be “Vampire Chicken Blood Wan Tan Mee” or “Dracula Raw Pork Heart Sui Kao Tong”?

Pork Meat Ball, this dish was ordered by my friend and the taste is very nice. The tenderness of the meat is just nice and the soup is not too salty.

Close-up shot on the meat ball soup.

This is the curry mee that I have been talking about. The curry is very different from Penang style Curry Mee. Back in Penang the spiciness of the soup is very mild and usually the taste is very much depend on the extra “chili sauce” that makes up the Curry Mee. However, you won’t see any extra “chili sauce” here.

The taste of this curry mee is something like putting curry chicken from the stall of economic rice in to a bowl of noodle instead. Whereas in Penang the soup of the curry mee will never be the same taste as the one we are eating at economic rice stall.
