There are too many restaurants claimed to be authentic Thai or even Nyonya in Penang. However, have you ever tried the marriage of Thai and Nyonya food?

If this is something new to you, you will be thrilled to find out this place in the heart of the Georgetown. Going to this place you will need to get to Penang road first. Once you reach the left junction to Chulia Street, the left junction just after the Chulia Street will be Jalan Kumpung Melabar. Drive until the end of Jalan Kumpung Melabar and Malabar Restaurant will be on the last left corner.

The interior of the restaurant is also in a fusion style. It looks like a very normal restaurant. The owner must be a dog lover as you can see there are some cute dog pictures on the wall.

Lobak – RM8.00, the pork was cut into small pieces and marinated with five spices flour. They were wrapped in bean curd sheet then deep fried before served.

Serving lobak with chili sauce and cucumber is a good combination. However, the texture of the lobak was a bit dry.

Deep Fried Belacan Chicken – RM12.00, small pieces of chicken were marinated with belacan and deep fried until golden brown. They were served together with prawn crackers which is a traditional way of serving fried chicken in restaurants.

This dish perfectly fits those who like salty taste. For me, I personally love the taste of the belacan chicken here.

Pork Trotters with Vinegar – RM16.00, the pork trotters were boiled with black vinegar, it was also added with some ginger for some extra flavoring.

The taste of the pork trotters was sourish and slightly sweet. I love the taste of this dish as it reminded me of my grandma. However, considering the portion served at such price, it is considered on the high side.

Asam Pedas Ikan – RM8.00, fish cooked in sourish assam soup which was full of pineapple cubes and curry flower slices. It was then topped with some mint leaves.

The taste of sourish, spicy and sweetness blended very well together and it was a very appetizing dish indeed.

Chicken Soup with Herbs – RM26.00, The chicken was double-boiled with dong gui (chinese angelica root), wolfberries, dried longan, mushroom, chestnuts and chinese dried dates, it was then sprinkled with coriander.

The taste of the soup was on the sweet side due to most of the ingredients contained the natural sweetness. It would make this dish better if some salt were added. The chicken meat was a bit dry. In my opinion it should be wrapped and cooked in an aluminium foil.

Whole Leg Thai-Style Roast Chicken – RM11.50, the chicken leg was marinated with spices and chili powder and it was roast until golden.

The taste of the roast chicken was slightly spicy and sour. For me the price of this roast chicken was on the high side considering the portion of the serving was not big.

Fried Kang Kong – RM9.00, the water spinach was pan fried with sambal.

The taste of the pan fried kang kung was very ordinary and usual.

Braised Garlic Pepper Pork Ribs – RM7.50 (S) / RM14.00 (R), the pork ribs were marinated with home made spices that consisted of garlic and pepper and it was braised until soft and tender.

The taste of the pork ribs didn’t really contain any garlic or pepper taste. It is not really my cup of tea.

Otak-Otak - RM4.00 each. The fish was cut into fillet and placed onto a “Kado” leaf. On top of the fish was a custard made from egg, turmeric, coconut milk and spices. It was then steamed to perfection.

This dish was great and I love this a lot.

Stir Fried Thai-Style Mayonnaise Prawns with Broccoli – RM22.00, the prawns were first stir fried and then cooked with mayonnaise and filled with broccoli.

The cooking method was not an authentic Thai style. I never had any Thai dishes cooked with mayonnaise before . This is also not my cup of tea.

Malabar Belanda Eggs – RM4.50, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the yolks were still in liquefied texture, they were then topped with fried onions and green chili slices. Finally the dish was completed with soy sauce and some lea and perrins sauce.

This is one of my favorites as it is simple yet delicious.

Thai-Style Beef Koay Teow – RM9.50, the beef koay teow was cooked with bean curd, beef ball, beef slices and also Thai basil leaves.

The portion of this beef koay teow was very generous but the taste was on the salty side.

Pumpkin in Coconut Milk Custard – RM4.50. The pumpkin was cut into slices and cooked with coconut milk custard.

The custard was full of pumpkin flavor and it tasted sweet and rich. It would be perfect if the sweetness level can be reduced by half.

Kasturi Lime With Sour Plum Drink – RM2.80. The pickled lime was mixed with sour plum.

A very refreshing and appetizing drink.

Overall, the food here was good and the ambiance here was comfortable. However, the drawback of this place is the parking is always an issue in this area and some of the food items here are slightly expensive.

Wan Tan Mee (云吞面) is one of the top 5 Penang food that shouldn’t be missed. There will always be a wantan mee stall in any food court in Penang as this is a very common food.

However, there are not many places in Penang that serve good wantan mee. One of the good wantan mee I have spotted in Penang is located at Yi Garden Cafe.

It is not hard to locate Yi Garden Cafe. If you are driving via Perak Road towards Macalister Road, keep driving and you will pass by a traffic light junction of Anson Road. Keep driving for another 60 meters, you will soon see Red Rock Hotel on your left. Keep driving for another 30 meters, you will soon see Lorong Selamat on your left. Yi Garden is just at the corner of the junction.

Yi Garden is famous for many food. However, for lunch time the only food that is famous is wan tan mee at Hong Kei Wan Tan Mee, aka Koh Low ‘tall guy’ Wan Tan Mee. The reason for calling Koh Low Wan Tan Mee is because the owner of this stall is a very tall guy.

Wan Tan Mee – RM4.00, the wantan mee was cooked with slices of black mushrooms, veggie and also some barbecue pork slices. It was then topped with few pieces of wantan (pork dumpling).

The noodle was very springy. The barbecue pork slices were so nice in aroma. The dumpling was very tasty as you will taste the minced meat, spring onions and some chopped water chestnuts. It is the classical type of wantan mee.

Shui Gao – RM1.20 per piece, it is also known as shrimp dumpling. The main ingredient of this dumpling was shrimps, then filled with minced meat, water chestnut, mushrooms and carrots.

The shrimps were fresh and tasty. The bite of the shrimps, minced meat and water chestnut were incredible. It had the combination of hard and soft texture. The shrimp dumplings were also covered with a touch of Chinese fragrant wine.

Overall the taste of the wantan mee was nice. Both the dumplings (pork and shrimp) were delicious. There are plenty of public and private parking lots around. However, the drawback is the price of the wantan mee here is considered one of the most expensive ones in Penang.

A lot of coffee shops and restaurants in Penang are surprisingly owned by Hainanese. In fact, there are many nice Hainanese food served in Penang too.

One of the famous, authentic and traditional Hainanese restaurants in town is Hai Onn Restaurant.

It is not hard to locate this restaurant. If you are driving to Burma Road via Penang Road (one-way street), you will sure see Hong Leong Bank on your left. The road beside is called Burma Lane, Hai Onn Restaurant is just 2 doors away.

The coffee shop is a typical old coffee shop in Penang. It has a very classical and traditional feel. Although this place is not air-conditioned, the food is undoubtedly nice.

Hainanese Style Chicken Chop – RM3.80, the signature dish in this coffee shop and it is one of the cheapest chicken chop in town. The chicken chop was cooked with their signature Hainanese-style gravy and was accompanied by green peas, onions, potatoes and tomatoes.

The gravy was special and tasted very different from the commercial western food stalls. It did not have the sourly taste from tomato purees . It tasted more like brown sauce, but lighter in texture and taste. I personally love this sauce.

Hainanese Style Pork Chop – RM3.80. Instead of chicken, it was cooked with pork meat. Unlike chicken chop, the pork chop was not battered. The rest of the ingredients were the same.

The gravy was similar to chicken chop. This is catered for pork lovers.

Hainanese Style Fried Noodle – RM3.50/ pax, the noodle was pan fried with gravy and added with shrimps, pork meat, veggie and some fried onion on top.

The pan fried aroma of the noodle was very nice and the gravy was well-mixed with the noodle. It was a very nice dish.

Fried Rice – RM3.50/ pax. The rice was fried together with egg, prawn, pork slices and chinese sausage.

The taste of this fried rice was just the usual fried rice and nothing special about it. This fried rice is catered to those seeking for individual meal or as a supplement for heavy eaters.

Overall, the food here was very nice and the price was very reasonable and affordable as you can’t fine such pricing in Penang, especially the chicken chop. Ambiance should not be taken into consideration if you are solely looking for good food. Parking at this restaurant is still a big concern as there are not many lots available around this place.

There is a saying that goes, if you want to be successful, follow the foot steps of a successful person. Therefore, if you want to be a multi-millionaire, you need to follow the food steps of them.

The food trail that I am going to introduce is a place where 2 of the multi-millionaires had been before. The first multi-millionaire is the late Tan Sri Loh Boon Siew a.k.a Honda Motor King. While the second one is Robert Kwok, The Sugar King.

The name of this shop is Kong Thai Lai (广泰来) Coffee Shop. It is quite easy to locate this place. If you are driving via Hutton Lane, which is one way street, you will sure pass by Penaga Hotel on your left. Keep driving for another 50 metres and you will see a coffee shop nestled in the middle of a prewar building on your left, that is Kong Thai Lai Coffee Shop.

Kong Thai Lai Coffee Shop has been operating for 3 generations. You will still find the traditional way of running the business especially in food preparation. From the technique of making coffee to the cutlery used, they still remain as it is from the first day it started business.

Kopi-O – RM0.90, one of the attractions here is the simplest yet delicious black coffee. The aroma of the coffee was so thick and when the coffee was in your mouth, the fragrance was still there yet it was not too bitter. The secret behind this coffee is that they used water which had been kept overnight and had less chlorine smell. However, bear in mind that the sweetness level of the coffee was quite high. Even the coffee was ordered in “jia” (meaning less sugar) still it was very sweet. You need to physically scoop out the sugar before you stir the coffee.

Kopi – RM1.00, for those that prefer coffee in milk rather than the black coffee, Kong Thai Lai Coffee Shop has this option as well. However, to me the aroma of the coffee with milk was not as strong and aromatic compared to the black coffee.

Toast with Kaya and Butter – RM1.80, The very standard and usual Penangite’s breakfast. A lot of places serve this kind of dish as breakfast. The texture of the toasted bread was crunchy and had a nice scent of toast fragrance. Needless to say, the toast they served with Kaya and Butter was classical and excellent.

Toast with butter and sugar – RM1.80, rather than butter and kaya, some might not prefer kaya on their toast. You can even custom order your toast to be with plain butter and sugar.

Half boiled egg x 2 – RM1.40, the eggs were cooked in half-boiled style. You can still see semi-transparent egg white when served in a glass mug. For those that don’t prefer the eggs to be too raw, you can always ask for the eggs to be boiled longer.

Nasi Lemak – RM1.50, those who still couldn’t get enough from the toast, eggs and coffee, you can always try out the nasi lemak here. The nasi lemak we had on that day was normal and nothing special. I heard they have different nasi lemak vendors in the coffee shop.

Overall, the food was good and of course the highlight of that place is the black coffee itself. The price was reasonable and the service was good. However, never go there during public holidays and weekends as it will be very packed. Parking will be an issue as there are not many car parks around. The only place to park is the multi-storey car park right before the coffee shop.

Lately, there are a lot of Thai Restaurants popping up around Pulau Tikus. They are springing up like mushrooms after the rain. Those notable ones are Aroi Thai Restaurant, Annathai-Kitchen, Sukhothai Beef Noodles House, Aroy Chang Moo Kata and the latest one is Wang Thai Restaurant.

It is not hard to locate Wang Thai Restaurant. If you are driving to Pulau Tikus via Burma Road, you will bypass the Police Station on your right. Keep driving and you will arrive at a traffic junction. Keep driving for another 5 meters, you will see Wang Thai Restaurant on your right hand side.

Wang Thai Restaurant is a very cozy and spacious place. This restaurant can cater for more than 10 tables.

Mieng Kam (Chiang Mai Leaf-Wrapped Appetizer – RM15). This plate of appetizer is very common in Thai food. The ingredients of this dish include Daun Ulam (leaves of a type of creepers), peanuts, dried shrimps, ginger, onion, chili, coconut slices and lime cubes. As for the sauce it is a mixture of palm sugar, fish sauce, grated coconut and chopped dried shrimps.

This dish is a very usual dish. But in Wang Thai Restaurant, the dipping sauce is what differs from the rest. Other will taste like sweet and sour sauce while this will have the taste of grated coconut with aroma of dried shrimps.

Yum Pla Duk Fu (Deep Fried Catfish in Spicy & Sour Mango Salad – RM12.90). The uniqueness of this dish is the cat fish is prepared in floss style and deep fried together with flour and egg. It is then completed with mango strips, onion slices, carrot, bird eyes chili, peanut and topped with sweet and sour sauce.

This dish is very special as the taste of deep fried cat fish is similar to the chicken floss and the smell and taste are very delicious. The whole combination of this dish is completed with sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours. This is indeed a very appetizing dish.

Yum Cha-Om Tod Krob (Crispy Cha-Om with Thai Sauce – RM12.90). This is similar to the Thai style salad with Yum Pla Duk Fu above. Instead of deep fried cat fish, it was substituted with cha-om leaves which have been coated with batter and deep fried until crispy. Besides these 2 differences. The rest of the ingredients remain such as mango strips, onion slices, carrot, bird eyes chili, peanut, spring onion and topped with sweet and sour sauce.

Personally, I would prefer the salad with deep fried cat fish. However, this option is an excellent choice for vegans. The taste and texture are quite similar to Thai Style Salad with Cat Fish.

Tom Yam Ruam Mit Talay (Mixed Seafood Spicy Thai Tom Yam – RM21.90). The tom yam steam boat is cooked with prawns, fish fillet, squids, mushrooms and tomatoes. The soup is cooked with tomyam paste with slices of Kaffir lime leaves, coriander and lime juice.

As you can see in the picture the color of the soup looks very hot and spicy. The seafood ingredients provided are fresh and delicious. However, this soup is a bit too spicy for me. If the level of spiciness can be reduced, this dish will be perfect.

Ped Sam Rod (Deep Fried Roast Duck with Triple Sauce – RM18.90). This This dish is braised with roast duck in garlic, tomato, chili and some plum sauce.

This dish is very unique as there is no such dish served in other places. It is only available at this restaurant. The taste is sweet, sour and slightly spicy. It is a very delightful dish.

Hor Mok Talay (Steamed Seafood Otak-Otak – RM23.90). The Thai style otak-otak is served in a coconut shell and cooked with ulam leaves, slices of kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil leaves, cabbage slices, onion, prawns, squid, fish, egg and some slices of coconut on top.

The sense of the Thai basil leaves is strong and the taste of this dish is very rich. For those who appreciate the fragrance of Thai basil leaves, this is a great dish to be taken.

Pla Kra Pong Neung Manow (Steamed Fish in Lime & Chili Marinade – RM35 for small fish). The garoupa fish is marinated with lime and chili and steamed together with lemongrass, galangal, bird eyes chili, onion and also some pepper mint leaves as topping.

The taste of this fish is on sweet and sour base. The spiciness level is very high indeed. This dish is catered for hot and spicy lovers.

Khao Neow Mamuang (Mango Sticky Rice – RM9.90). This dessert needs no introduction. The mango sticky rice is made of glutinous rice with a touch of sweetened coconut milk and garnished with deep fried beans. The rice is then served with mango slices.

The texture of the steamed glutinous rice was not firm enough. Although the mango is fresh and full of sweetness, I don’t enjoy eating the rice with deep fried beans.

Tub Tim Krob (Red Starched Water Chestnut & Jackfruit in Coconut Milk – RM4.50). The water chestnut is covered with some jelly, served together with slices of jackfruit and topped with mild sweetened coconut milk.

This is also a very common Thai dessert. It really give me a sweet and delightful ending.

Overall, the dishes here are up to par. However, most of the food here are served in sweet, sourish and spicy types. For those non-spicy lovers, this might be a bit challenging to adapt to the taste. This place serves pork and beer. There will still be parking slots available in front and surrounding of this restaurant. But try to go there before or after lunch.

For those who had tried Vietnamese pho, you should know how good it tasted like. However, until now I have not found any place in Penang that serves good Vietnamese Pho. Although we couldn’t get to taste good pho in Penang, there is a relatively “close of its kind” in town area.

The one which is close to pho in terms of country of origin and serving style is no other than Thai beef brisket noodle. The place that serves this nice Thai style beef noodle is at Sukhothai Beef Noodle House.

It is not hard to locate this place. If you are driving From Codrington Avenue to Pulau Tikus via Burma Road, you will sure see Tan Mark book store on your left and Sukhothai Restaurant is on your right. This building is a corner lot which is located next to Bala Clinic.

The previous owner of this restaurant was Strada Cafe. This place is very spacious and it can cater for about 20 dining tables.

Upon serving the beef noodle, there will be a basket of fresh bean sprouts and Thai basil leaves to be accompanied with the beef noodle.

The Thai basil leaves and the bean sprouts are to be placed on the bowl of hot beef noodle soup. The aroma of the Thai basil leaves were strong enough to cover the scent of the beef, whereas the fresh bean sprouts gave a juicy bite.

Sukhothai Beef Noodle – RM12.90, the beef brisket, beef balls and also some of the beef intestines were stewed in the beef stock soup. It was then flavored with some coriander, bean sprouts and Thai basil leaves. There are 3 choices of noodle which include Original Noodle, Glass Noodle and Instant Noodle.

The cooking style is really similar to Vietnamese Pho. However, instead of thick rice noodle, it was cooked with thin rice noodle. The soup was very tasty and aromatic. The stewed beef brisket were so soft. The beef ball were slightly on the chewy side. It will be perfect if they were softer.

Another option which is good to try out is the glass noodle. The base of the soup was still the same. However, due to it was cooked with glass noodle the taste was better and also no matter how long the noodle was soaked in the soup, the texture of the glass noodle was just right.

Fish Maw Soup – RM19.90. The fish maw was cooked is thick gravy which tasted similar to shark’s fin soup. Accompanying the fish maw were some bird eggs, slices of mushrooms and some veggie.

Instead of shark’s fin, it was cooked with fish maw. It tasted even more like shark’s fin soup when few drops of black vinegar were added into it.

Thai Fried Rice – RM12.90, the Thai fragrant rice was fried together with Chinese sausage slices, eggs and shrimps. It was garnished with few slices of tomato, cucumber and a pinch of spring onions. It was also accompanied with few slices of lemon for a sourish twist.

Although it was a Thai-style fried rice, it was unexpectedly not very spicy. In fact, the way they cooked it was slightly on the sweet side. The aroma of the fragrant Thai rice was very nice and pleasant. The pan-fried aroma of the rice was also strong enough. It was great for non spicy lover.

Pad Thai – RM12.90, the “kuey teow” was fried in Thai style, with some chopped peanuts, bean sprouts, eggs, shrimps, chicken cubes and some chives. The lime slices were added for those that looking for some sour flavour.

The pad thai had a reasonable pan fried flavor. It was also on slightly sweet side and the bite of the pad thai was full of peanut flavor. When squeezed in with some lime juice it made the dish more appetizing and delicious.

Besides the food, below are the drinks available at this restaurant.

Thai Style Iced Green Tea – RM4.90 (with Milk), RM3.90 (w/o Milk)

Sweet and Sour Roselle Juice – RM4.90

The seasoning that was served on each table consisted of sweet, salty and spicy flavours.

As for the desserts, below are the choices:

Durian Sticky Rice – RM8.90, the durian was teared into pieces and blended together with coconut milk and served on top of 2 types of sticky rice.

The smell of the durian was very strong. The sweetness of the durian complemented with the saltiness of the coconut milk. It was very rich and delicious. This is one of my favorites. However, it is recommend to be shared by 2 people or more unless you are a big eater.

Banana Sago – RM4.90, the banana was cut into slices and cooked with coconut milk and sago.

If this dish was ordered together with durian sticky rice, this dish should have been taken first. If this dessert was taken after the durian dessert, it would be tasteless.

Mango Sticky Rice – RM8.90, the slices of mango was placed beside 2 types of sticky rice which had been mixed with some coconut milk.

Unlike the sticky rice with durian, mango with sticky rice was more refreshing and appetizing as mango itself contained sweetness and slight sourness. This is also one of my favorites.

Overall, the food here is nice and the environment is family friendly. There are some car parks in front of the shop lot and also some just opposite this shop. The service is good and presentation is pleasant. The only drawback of this place is the price of the food is slightly on the high side. If the price can be lowered a bit to more affordable level, this would be an ideal dining place for all.

Finding a place that serves nutritious yet affordable Italian food is not easy in Penang. If you still can’t recall one, keep reading this post and you will know below is the place you will be looking for.

The place that I am introducing this round is called Simply Nutritious. It is hidden from the main road. If you are driving from Jalan Dato Keramat, look for the signboard to turn into Lebuh Melaka and keep driving for about 100 meters. Look on your left and you will find a small shop with a banner called Simply Nutritious.

The shop is not very spacious and it can only cater for about 10 tables. However, this restaurant provides a very homey and cozy atmosphere.

Simply Nutritious serves not only nutritious food but even the drinks are also nutritious. Below are some of the famous drinks:

Cucumber Sour Drink – RM3.80

Grapefruit Juice – RM3.80

Cucumber sour drink is made of blended cucumber with sour plum. This drink was very refreshing and appetizing as cucumber can cool down your body temperature while sour plum makes the drink apppetizing.

Besides the cucumber sour drink, there is also another famous drink here which is the grape fruit juice. However, the taste of it is very depending on the fruit itself. Sometimes the grape fruit could be very sourish or at other times you could get very sweet grapes.

Fresh Pumpkin Soup – RM5.80, the fresh pumpkin was blended and cooked with dried squids then sprinkled with spring onion.

The soup was full of pumpkin flavour. The aroma of the dried squid also made this soup very tasty. Moreover, the soup was served in a beautiful bowl which made the soup even more pleasant looking.

Mushroom Cream Soup – RM5.80, the soup was full of chopped mushrooms and topped with spring onions.

The taste of the soup was very thick and creamy. For those that love mushroom soup this is a must try.

Mixed Salad Balsamic and Olive Oil – RM4.80. The salad was made up of romaine lettuce, cucumber and bean sprouts. It was served with some vinegar, seasoning and olive oil as dressing.

Sour, slightly salty and full of fresh garden flavor. It was a very delightful dish for veggie lovers.

Mushroom and Cheese with Spinach Chicken with Mushroom and Wolf Berries Spaghetti - RM12.50. Do not be confused by its long name. It is actually a combination dish. The chicken was covered in sauteed mushroom and spring onion and gratinated with mozzarella cheese. As for the spaghetti, it was pan fried with slices of mushroom, wolf berries and spinach.

You may choose what you would like with the spaghetti. For those that love mushroom the above combination will be very good as both the spaghetti and chicken contained an abundance of mushrooms. It was very delicious.

Parmigiano Fish with Tomato Concasse Spaghetti - RM13.80. The fish fillet was topped with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and then gratinated to perfection. As for the spaghetti, it was cooked with red pasta sauce and topped with cheese powder and spring onion.

The fish was coated with a layer of melted cheese and the spaghetti which was cooked in red sauce and sprinkled with cheese powder was appetizing and rich at the same time. This is a perfect selection for cheese lovers.

Overall, this place serves great Italian spaghetti which are also reasonably priced. It is also a place where you could find a selection of healthy drinks. However, there are a few drawbacks as this place is not easy to be located and there are limited parking space and tables in the restaurant.

One of the places in town that I always visit on and off during weekends for oriental breakfast is located at one of the pioneer pre-war shophouses along Campbell Street.

The restaurant is no other than Tho Yuen Restaurant, 桃园茶楼. This restaurant has been operating for more than 50 years and it is still up and running. For those who are not sure how to get to this restaurant, try to ask around the old folks here and they will sure happily guide you to this restaurant.

Tho Yuen Restaurant is famous for its oriental breakfast such as dim sum and chicken rice. Usually during weekend morning, you need to queue up for tables. Anyway, for this round my write up is on the dim sum only.

Pork Dumpling or Siu Mai (烧卖) the minced pork, chopped shrimps and bits of Chinese mushrooms were seasoned and covered with thin sheet of lye water dough. It was then topped with roe (or sometimes diced carrot).

The taste of the pork dumpling was acceptable. The ingredients were not very fresh. It would be much better if the ingredients were fresher.

Shrimp Dumpling or Har Gow (虾餃). The success of making a good prawn dumpling depends on the freshness of the shrimps. These shrimps were placed into wrapper and were steamed until translucent.

The taste of the shrimp dumpling was still acceptable and the dumpling was very filling too.

Fish Slices Porridge 鱼片粥, the porridge was cooked in small boiling claypot with ingredients such as fish slices, then served together with spring onions and crackers on top.

The breakfast from the western is so much different than the asian breakfast. For western breakfast, there will be cereal or oatmeal accompanied with fresh cold milk which sometimes will make you rush to the toilet. However, for Chinese breakfast usually it will be something to warm up your stomach. Example a hot bowl of porridge with some fish slices and crackers on top. The porridge served on this restaurant was not too salty nor too diluted. However, the porridge was extremely hot and it took me sometime to finish it up.

Fried Hor Fun Bee Hoon with Seafood (海鲜炒河粉), the hor fun and bee hoon were fried together with some shrimps, squid slices and barbecue pork slices.

The bee hoon and the hor fun were full of pan fried aroma and was cooked in dried style instead of in starch.

Fu Gui Noodle (富贵面), the noodle used for this dish was Yee Mee, and it was served in starchy soup with full of egg white, together it was cooked with mushroom slices and carrot slices.

The sticky gluey like starch was very well mixed with the crispy yee mee. I love this dish as it was not too salty. The taste would be much better if it was served together with some black vinegar.

Home Made Fish Ball, the fish balls were big and were served in soup cooked with fish stock and garnished with spring onions.

The texture of the fish ball was very bouncy and chewy. This dish was good for those who dislike deep fried and spicy food.

Overall, the meal cost us RM53 for 4 pax. The price is considered reasonable and the taste of the food is up to standard. However, the parking space is limited and this place is a bit hot and not baby friendly.
