Sometimes, I was abit reluctant to introduce a dining place with nice ambiance and is affordable. The reason being that the place that used to be enjoyed by few of us will get very crowded once it is famous and the service of the restaurant will also be slower. However, I still have to announce a good finding to the public, as this is my duty to do so. Sigh, this is the mission of a food blogger.
One of the restaurants that serves good food with reasonable price yet in a quiet and peaceful environment is Ben’s Diner Restaurant. This restaurant is located in Bayan Lepas, Sunway Tunas.
It is not hard to get to this place. If you know how to get to Sunway Tunas in Bayan Lepas, you will surely see Ming Yuan Coffee Shop at the front of the shops. In front of the Coffee shop is Pesiaran Mahsuri 1/2. Keep driving until you come to a junction and turn right into Persiaran Mahsuri 1/1. Keep driving for another 50 meters and you will see Ben’s Diner Restaurant is on your right.
This owner of the restaurant is a pork lover. Therefore you can see a lot of piggy cartoon characters inside the restaurant. They also mentioned clearly that they serve pork.
Inside the restaurant there is a police’s bike. It is for display purpose. May be the owner was previously a traffic police.
The dining area was dimly lit with warm shade of down lights accompanied by oldies songs at the background. Making this dining area a very sentimental and relax place to dine at.
Spaghetti Meat Nara – RM15, spaghetti cooked in bolognese style with meat balls. Sprinkled with some mix herbs, added with slices of cherry tomatoes and meat balls. To complete this meal the pasta was sprinkled with a pinch of parmesan cheese powder.
The taste of the spaghetti was up to par. The spaghetti was nicely cooked and not too soft nor too hard. The meat balls were very special as they were prepared with custard and black pepper and then deep fried. The taste of the meat balls were so delicious and bouncy when bite.
Meat Loaf – RM16, the pork meat loaf was cut into 3 pieces and served with their own home made brown sauce. The side dishes were served with mixed vegetables and mashed potato.
The portion given for the meat loaf was very generous. The home made brown sauce enhanced the aroma of the meat loaf and the taste of the sauce was slightly sweet but delicious. For those who can finish this whole plate of meat loaf with side dishes, you must be really very hungry.
Ice blended White Coffee – RM5, The white coffee was made into ice blended and served with fresh cream and topped with some cocoa powder.
The taste of the coffee was very strong and this drink will quench your thirst during a hot sunny day.
Coke Float – RM4, a tall glass of coke served together with chocolate ice cream.
The coke float here was in big portion. The serving of the ice cream was chocolate. However, I still prefer the ice cream to be in vanilla to bring out the flavour of float.
Overall, this place meets the criteria of nice food, cozy ambiance and reasonable price. Moreover, there is a very big public car park for FREE in front of the restaurant. This is the place that I will be returning for.
